Bachelor of Science in Geodetic Engineering

The course aims to develop the ability and skills of the students to perform surveying and mapping work. The curriculum is designed to provide the student a balanced education in the various branches of surveying as well as in pure Mathematics, Physical and Social Sciences, Laws on Public Lands and Natural Resources, Land Registration Laws, Obligation and Contract, Professional ethics. Basic to the course is the fundamental concepts of surveying and core of the various disciplines of Geodetic Engineering: Geomatics, Geodetic Surveys, Cadastral or Property Surveys, Engineering Surveys for design and construction, Physical and Geometric Geodesy, Photogrammetric Surveys, Photo interpretation and Remote Sensing, Hydrography and Oceanography, Topographic Survey, Cartography, Gravimetric measurements and Isostacy, Geoinformatics. The scope of Geodetic Surveying and Astronomy now includes electronic surveying and satellite observation respectively.

Objective

To teach the students the general scientific principles and specialist subjects in geomatics, surveying, computing, geodetic data adjustment, digital mapping, remote sensing, satellite positioning and spatial data management for geo-informatics, land and geographic information systems.

To complement the theoretical studies with practical exercises in the field and in the laboratory that is equipped with state-of-the-art instruments.
